A new CD Transport PD-505T will be released in the Reference 500 series

TEAC Corporation (TOKYO:6803) launches a new CD Transport, PD-505T in the Reference 500 series, and will be unveiled at the HIGH END MUNICH 2023 that will take place on May 18-21 in Munich, Germany.

Based on our original CD drive design used in the CD-5020A, which boasts a record for many years of use by broadcasters, we developed a new design optimized for the PD-505T. Utilizing semi-floating mounting and a new drive circuit design, we have realized CD reading that is accurate and maintains a high level of purity.

With support for 10MHz clock input, not only can this transport be used together with a TEAC Reference 500 Series DAC, it can also be used flexibly to enable high-quality audio CD playback with a variety of digital playback systems.

  • CD transport for use with an external DAC that has digital input

  • Dedicated CD drive design improved on the drive developed for the TEAC CD-5020A

  • The CD-5020A is a durable and reliable drive that has been employed over many years as a CD player for broadcast applications

  • The drive employs semi-floating mounting so that it is not completely fixed to the chassis

  • Drive control circuit with a new design maintains a natural rotating state through gentle servo control

  • Discrete power circuits use toroidal core transformers

  • Crystal-oscillator-based internal clock with low-phase noise used

  • Full-metal enclosure increases vibration resistance

  • Stressless Foot, a TEAC original design with three support points, employed

  • Semi-floating top panel instills sound with an open feeling

* This product does not equip a D/A converter circuit, so that an extra D/A converter unit such as the UD-505X or NT-505-X is required.
* Design and specifications subject to change without notice.

The TEAC PD-505T is available for purchase now at and select dealers across North America. The MSRP is $1399.99 USD.
